Snorkel Tour + Lunch at Beach Restaurant
24 ft. Power Boat with canopy and bench seating
Mismaloya Adventures
Mismaloya Adventures offers an intimate look at the astounding natural beauty of the Bay of Banderas and its abundant wild life. The guide will go to several excellent locations for snorkeling and swimming on the dramatic South Shore. The tour ends with lunch at one of the jungle beaches only accessible by boat. Passengers choose the restaurant, lunch not included in the cost.
This snorkel tour is unique from some of the bigger group tours. It is more individualized – you will see things the group tours can’t show you.
The guide will take you to Los Arcos first, just offshore from Mismaloya.
Los Arcos Islands National Marine Park is a huge rock formation and Vallarta’s most well-known geological landmark, located at the mouth of Mismaloya cove. The coral covered rocks are close to the surface. It is like swimming in an aquarium. If you only plan one activity on your trip, it should be snorkeling at Los Arcos.
Snorkeling does not take that long
You will find that 20 minutes paddling on top of the water is plenty. When finished snorkeling at Los Arcos, get back in boat and head south
The guide will stop on the way for more snorkeling at the beautiful Majahuitas
He will motor slowly along the coast line to allow everyone to soak in their surroundings. The guides will bring up amazing sea creatures for you to interact with, all the while being ultra respectful of their habitat.
At the end of the tour there are several beaches to stop, have lunch and mingle with the locals.
At any of the beachfront restaurants, you can’t go wrong by ordering filet of fish “pescado del dia”
It comes with white rice and fresh veggies
These rustic beach clubs offer a variety of fresh seafood including langostinos, lobster and grilled butterflied shrimp in their shells, all drenched in garlic butter.
After lunch, the guide will take you back to your launch point in Mismaloya
He will speed back this time
Once in Mismaloya, sit under a palapa on the beach, order a Coco Loco and get your land legs back. When ready to return to the villa, just walk up the beach path to the taxi stand and bus stop at the main road to town.
Snorkeling is best in the morning when the waters are calm
Plan to be in Mismaloya by 10 am.
Staff will call taxis for pick up at your villa
Mismaloya Adventures will outfit you with snorkel gear and supply ice for the cooler on the boat
Bottled water and Gatorade provided. Please inquire about adding beer+wine+snacks
Each boat seats up to 10 persons comfortably, 12 maximum
Half day tour: $80US per person
Tipping the guide is customary, usually 15-20%
These outboard motor boats are called “pangas” in Mexico. They are not docked at a marina. They moor in the cove and then pull up to shore for loading and unloading of passengers and gear.
Please Note: Getting in and out of the boat on the beach requires some dexterity and strength. Please talk to us if you have seniors or babies in the group.
Mismaloya Divers is a multi-generational family business that has been operating for decades. The captains and guides live in Mismaloya. They are laid back, friendly people and very reliable. The prices are reasonable for such a personal experience and a trip to Puerto Vallarta is simply not complete without seeing the awe-inspiring landscape of the Bay of Banderas from the water.
